Interactive 3D landscape assessment models

چکیده
The term “interactive 3D visualisation” has been defined as “a simulation employing real time 3D graphics to represent the visual form of an area of landscape in which the user can control the viewing position to freely explore all the aspects of the land form” (MORGAN ET AL. 2009). Bishop (2005) and Schroth (2007) conclude that interactive 3D visualisations are suitable for facilitating discussion in a collaborative planning process. However, beyond their role as a conduit for communicating the ideas of designers, interactive 3D visualisations are also used as landscape design tools with the Google Sketchup 1 software being one popular tool.

Interactive Multi-Perspective Views of Virtual 3D Landscape and City Models
Based on principles of panorama maps we present an interactive visualization technique that generates multi-perspective views of complex spatial environments such as virtual 3D landscape and city models. Panorama maps seamlessly combine easily readable maps in the foreground with 3D views in the background – both within a single image. Such nonlinear, non-standard 3D projections enable novel fo...
متن کاملFrom Nationwide Point Clouds to Nationwide 3D Landscape Models
While an increasing number of cities is using 3D geo-information, applications like infrastructure planning and the assessment of environmental impact by noise, wind and air pollution require 3D geo-information over areas covering multiple municipalities. To enable such applications a national 3D landscape model has been produced in the Netherlands by automated fusion of the national 1:10,000 s...
متن کاملAn interactive visual decision support tool for sustainable urban river corridor management
Sustainable integrated catchment management is a complex task that often involves finding compromise between the views of multiple stakeholders that may not easily be brought to consensus. Interactive three dimensional (3D) visualisations of landscapes can facilitate discussion, but these can only partially inform decision makers as many important aspects of interventions are abstract. Such abs...
متن کاملInteractive Geovisualization Based on 3d Gis and Geovrml: an Approach for Landscape Investigation and Analysis Integrating Web Technology
There has been considerable interest in spatial data visualization employing geographical information system (GIS), scientific visualization and virtual reality (VR) platform. Integrating with Web technology, the approach seems to be actually a powerful geospatial web-based 3D visualization and analysis solution. In this work, numerous salted morphostructural landscapes located within northern ...
متن کاملReal-Time Virtual Landscapes in Landscape and Urban Planning
In landscape and urban planning, public participation and interactivity become more and more an issue. Real-time virtual 3D landscapes represent communication tools that allow experts as well as non-experts to use, explore, analyze, and understand landscape information. In our contribution, we describe the architecture and functionality of an interactive, participatory system, Lenné3D, which fa...
